Whether you’re planning an intimate soiree for your nearest and dearest or an extravagant celebration for friends, family and acquaintances, you’ll want to ensure you have the perfect bridal gown to take their breath away and ensure you look like a million dollars. For inspiration, take a look at these spectacular designs that are perfect for summer weddings:

  1. Add a Touch of Colour

An ivory, white or cream dress might be the traditional choice, but coloured wedding gowns are a growing trend. A soft pastel shade, such as blush or lilac, could be perfect for a warm, summer day. Alternatively, you can buck tradition and opt for something more vibrant, if you’re keen to give your special day a more modern feel.

  1. Off the Shoulder

Off the shoulder dresses look divine at any time of year but they’re particularly well-suited for the warmest time of the year. If you’re preparing for a summer wedding, you’ll want to ensure your dress enables you to stay cool and fresh, no matter how high the temperature gets. With a strapless, off the shoulder gown, you can opt for a classic or contemporary look and epitomise a cool, summer style at the same time.

  1. Tea-Length

Many bridal dresses stretch right down to the ground and well beyond if you decide to incorporate a train into your look. However, a tea-length dress could be an ideal alternative. Reaching just below calf-length, tea-length gowns reflect vintage glamour, without stretching too far from a traditional style. With less material, they’re perfect for summer weddings, when excess heat could be a concern. Of course, if tea length isn’t quite dramatic enough, you could always opt for a shorter wedding dress too.

  1. Cover-Ups

Preparing for a British summer essential means prepping for all eventualities, so what’s better than a separate cover-up? If it’s chillier during the day, a lace or sheer cover-up will give you a little added warmth but can be easily removed if the temperature gets warmer. Not only does this allow you to accommodate the (changeable!) British weather, but it allows you to incorporate your favourite styles into one sublime wedding dress too.

  1. Lace

A lace dress can look spectacular at any time, but there’s no doubt it’s a top choice for spring or summer weddings. The light material ensures you’ll stay cool throughout the day, while the amount of embroidery you choose to incorporate into the design enables you to create a unique gown that’s perfectly suited to your unique style.
