Your Love Story

…How did you meet?

Jordon and I met on a car forum on Facebook. I was in my last year at college in Chelmsford and he was in his 2nd year in Hertfordshire uni. We soon realised we were more than friends and wanted to be with each other as much as possible. I pretty much moved into his uni room and commuted back to Essex when needed. We decided to rent a house together after about 9months of being together. Then bought our first house 5 years later. Since being together our little family has grown to 4 rabbits and 2 cats.

The proposal

Expected or surprise!

I know Jordon had been a bit strange other the past couple of weeks but didn’t really think anything about it. We went to Chester Zoo as a stop over before travelling to Manchester for a concert. Jordon was very persistent about going on a boat ride. I gave in and we went on the boats. This is where Jordon asked me if I’d marry him. I without a doubt said yes! I hadn’t realised he was walking about on a hot day with his coat on to ensure he didn’t lose the ring.

Choosing THE dress …

I went to Norwich to find my dress. Myself and my mum went to Wed2be. We tried in a number of dresses which weren’t quite right but then went back to have another look and found the perfect dress.

What was your inspiration/theme for the big day?

We wanted our day to be fun and relaxed. We also wanted our love of cars to be a big part of the day.

Why did you choose Dodford Manor?

Dodford incorporated our love of the country but was also modern. We found the staff members easy to talk to and ask questions. We loved that we could close the ceremony room off and invite our guests to celebrate in the other barn with us. We love that would could park out cars in the centre courtyard and have them as a main focus point. We also likely that Dodford was not overly large as our guest list was fairly small.

Tell us all the details!

On the day I got ready with my mum at Dodford and Jordon got ready at home.
I walked down the isle with my dad to music from Spirit Stallion of the Cimerron.
Our flowers were made by a family member and were small but details, exactly what I wanted!
We had 2 large Colin the Caterpillar cakes which everyone loved.
Our cars were parked in the front courtyard which everyone walked into.
The whole day was relaxed and fun just how we wanted it.

What was on the menu?

Starter: Arancini balls or tomato soup.
Main: Stuffed wrapped chicken breast or cheese and onion pie
Dessert: Trio including, white chocolate cheesecake, chocolate brownie and apple pie

First Dance Song?

We had 1 minute of Ed Sheeran Perfect. This was then mixed into the Cha Cha Slide. Our friends knew about this and joined us, our family were a bit surprised but knew our first dance would be fun and us in some way.

Your favourite moment of the day?

Being with friends and family and having fun!

A word of advice for future couples?

Have the wedding you want to have as different as you want, it’s your day.

Can you sum up your day in just 3 words?

Fun. Us. Different.
