Your Love Story
…How did you meet?
A modern-day love story of course!😂 We met on Tinder in 2016!
The proposal
Expected or surprise!
The proposal was a complete surprise, Sam threw me off by telling me that he wanted to buy our first home together then he would like to propose, but during a weekend visit in 2020, to the same log cabins we stayed in on our first weekend away together in 2017, Sam covered the outdoor decking in roses and candles and popped the question! An amazing surprise.
Choosing THE Dress
Ironically, I said yes to the dress after trying 27 dresses in total 😂 since I was a little girl I’d always been obsessed with my mums wedding dress, so tried my best to find my own dress in that style.
What was your inspiration/theme for the big day?
As orange is my favourite colour, I knew straight away that I wanted an autumnal theme, it was all heavily based around my beautiful bouquet, I think autumnal colours really pop against a white dress!
Why did you choose Dodford Manor?
Dodford Manor was number 1 on our wish list from the moment we received the brochure. We spent months watching all the reels and photos on socials and it took one walk into the barn and we both knew this was a venue that really represented us as a couple.
Tell us all the details!
One of the most special personal touches of the day was the memory charms I had on my bouquet dedicated to my grandparents, it was so special having them with me as I walked down the aisle.
I also had 8 bridesmaids, which made the ceremony even more special for me being able to watch my best friends and family walk down the aisle from the secret window was so lovely.
First Dance Song?
The music for our big day was really important to us, I walked down the aisle to Can’t Help Falling In Love, we signed the register to Over the Rainbow which is Sam’s grandmother’s favourite song, we walked back down the aisle as husband and wife to This will be an everlasting love, We entered the reception to Im in love with you by The 1975 (my fave band!), our first dance was to Lover by Taylor Swift (Wedding TikTok heavily influenced this decision!) then we asked all our guests to join us to dance to Love Story by Taylor Swift too!
Your favourite moment of the day?
It’s so hard to choose a favourite moment, we have so many! But if we had to choose, that first moment of privacy as husband and wife when you walk back down the aisle is just simply magical.
A word of advice for future couples?
Make sure you spend as much time as possible together, the day goes by so fast, you want to have memories together!
Can you sum up your day in just 3 words?
